Introduction to Multi-block Linocut Prints (Intermediate Level Class). Saturday March 8th & 15th (10am-4pm, with lunch break). All materials included.
Join me for a small-group workshop where we will learn the basics of multi-block relief printmaking! This is an intermediate-level workshop for those that have already participated in a beginners relief printmaking class or that have successfully carved and printed linoleum block prints before. Multi-block printmaking uses more than one block to create a color layered print. Planning the layers and ensuring the alignment of the blocks is key to a successful print!
In this class we will cover design and the planning of layers, creating a registration system for both transferring the design into multiple blocks and printing perfectly aligned prints, carving 2 blocks, inking techniques, and printing (both hand burnishing or using my lever press). I will demonstrate each step and you’ll come out with your carved blocks and a small edition of multiblock prints. All materials are included, but feel free to bring your tools if you prefer so. Before you book, please read the following
